How to play
A careto pops up and you have about 3 seconds to pull the same face. Look at the front camera with your whole face on the screen. After each careto you see your score from 0 to 100, which part was off and a tip. At the end of the game you get a video and a photo-booth strip to share.
How scoring works
At the start we ask you to «Make your normal face» for 2 seconds: that way the game learns your resting face (brows, mouth, glasses) and does not count it as a mistake. Then it compares brows, eyes and mouth with the careto; the three bars show how each part is doing. Your best moment of the 3 seconds counts, so a blink will not sink you. 85 or more: «Nailed it!».
Getting a higher score
Exaggerate: caretos are caricatures. Read the tip («Raise your brows more», «Make an O with your mouth») and fix the shortest bar. During calibration keep your face truly relaxed. If a careto winks, either eye will do.
«Find more light»
It appears when the picture is too dark and the phone cannot see your face well. Face a window or a lamp (not with it behind you), clear anything covering the camera and hold the phone a little further away so your whole face is visible.
The camera does not work
Check that Muecas has camera permission in the system settings (iPhone: Settings › Muecas › Camera; Android: Settings › Apps › Muecas › Permissions) and that no other app is using it. Close and reopen the game. Without the camera you can play the party game in «jury mode»: the others vote from 1 to 5 stars.
Duels by link
You play 5 caretos and send the link wherever you like. Your rival plays the same 5 and you are compared one by one. The link expires after 7 days. A rematch is another duel the other way round. If you see an offensive nickname, tap the little flag to report it.
Duel on the web
Anyone without the game can open the link and play in the browser on their phone or computer, without installing anything. They need to give the browser camera permission; their face is read inside the browser and only their nickname and scores are sent.
Daily challenge
5 caretos, the same for everyone, and a single try. We tell you how you did compared with everyone else, and you can share your coloured card without spoiling the caretos. It works offline too: the score is sent later.
